PSYCHOVILLE was originally a story I wrote for a THE-UNICO collection.
Its based on this psycho ass place where everyone was kinda crazy, the place was full of mean people, frustrations, poverty, trailers & the main character was this deformed in the face kid called Taviel Samuel or some shit like that I forgot I got it written down somewhere. His name means “venom spit of god” & his dad is the devil., he went to PSYCHOVILLE one night and fucked his mom…
Anyways, it’s the kind of shit I like to do, work on collections. I like to use my imagination.
But yeah i started the collection and never finished so when I decided to open THE-UNICO store I also decided to call it PSYCHOVILLE. In my head it made perfect sense.
The store pretty much is THE-UNICO store but we also have a selection of brands I fuck with & zines… cuz I love zines and books.

I immediately dug Psychoville when I saw it on Instagram. Getting your brand in stores usually includes being grouped in with a bunch of other goofy fruit loop brands they carry that I don't like. So when Elvin hit me up to do a collab tee I was hella down. That store Waste in England is cool because it really has a DIY feel and you see that it's really filled with kids experimenting with making their own shit. Psychoville clearly also has that attitude and even better that it's homegrown here in Brooklyn and it seems genuinely kinda crazy and fucked up. There's not enough cool stores like that here in America so I really wanted to promote it and champion it in hopes that it inspires kids to want to make their own shit.

This my boy… I got arrested and was at central bookings for 24 hours, he was there too.
I met him as we was opening the shop. He would always ask if I need anything or if he can help on any way.
I gave him a $120 Unico 1/1 shirt, he still wears it at times., anyways., as long as we open, he always going to have fresh clothes.
WELCOME TO PSYCHOVILLE*

The graphic I used for the tee I've had for a while. Its from the cover of a book I scanned at a technical library near me in Kansas City that you can't even rent books from usually because they're so rare. It's filled with books on the disposing of toxic waste. The story behind the graphic in my head was that the Glue Factory was polluting the water supply in the town of Psychoville. Elvin had the idea of making a boxset that came with a zine and buttons. I knew the perfect spot in NYC to find fucked up images to use for it (not putting you on to it). The tees were all screen printed by Elvin, and the zines and buttons, all put together there in Psychoville.
It's truly rare when things come together as easy as this did.
